Custom Designed Products
Electrochemical Devices, Inc. works with design and corrosion engineers to produce reference electrodes for those applications where our standard models may require modification. This customization can be as simple as a change in the lead wire type. In those cases it is only necessary to consult with us before ordering to ensure the wire type is available and suitable for use on the product. In other cases, customization may be as complex as designing an entirely new type of housing which still incorporates many of the life extension features of our standard electrodes. After consultation, we will prepare a drawing of the proposed product for engineering approval. At that time, the custom product is assigned a unique model number, UX followed by a two digit sequence number, to simplify re-ordering in the future. We do not charge design fees for this service and in most cases the custom product is priced comparably to a similar standard product. | UX01 | Model UX01 is a Model UL LongLife™ reference electrode with the gel chamber enlarged to extend the design life to 50 years. It has been re-designated as Model UL50. |
| UX02 | Model UX02 is a Model US SlimLine™ reference electrode with the gel chamber lengthened to extend the design life to 50 years. It has been re-designated as Model US50. |
| UX03 | Model UX03 is a Model UD SlimLine™ dual element reference electrode in which the zinc element has been replaced with an encapsulated platinum element. It is intended for use in mildly elevated temperature environments such as beneath aboveground storage tanks containing heated product. |
| UX04 | Model UX04 is a Model US SlimLine™ reference electrode with a rod shaped CP coupon fitted to one end. This simplifies installation of a CP coupon in a small diameter bored hole. |
| UX05 | Model UX05 is a zinc probe in a cotton bag containing backfill. |
| UX06 | Model UX06 is a Model US SlimLine™ reference electrode with the earth contact bag placed on the end opposite the wire. Model UX06A is a variation of this design with a smaller gel chamber to give it a 12 year design life. Model UX06B is another variation of this design with a larger gel chamber to give it a 50 year design life. |
| UX07 | Model UX07 is a Model UC Concentric CP Coupon in which the exposed area of the coupon can be varied at time of manufacture to between 6 and 65 sq. cm. |
| UX08 | Model UX08 is a cylindrical cathodic protection coupon which is available in either steel or ductile iron. |
| UX09 | Model UX09 is a Model UL LongLife™ reference electrode with the earth contact bag located on the side wall. It is designed to be bonded to a test station riser through a coupling or a reducer. |
| UX10 | Model UX10 consists of two Model US SlimLine™ reference electrodes plus a 1/2 inch (12 mm) rod encased in cement. The entire assemble is placed in a cotton bag containing backfill. It is used to monitor stray current pick-up in a reinforced concrete subway tunnel. |
| UX11 | Model UX11 is a sub-sized reference electrodes designed to be retro-fit installed by pushing it into place through sand or screened backfill beneath an aboveground storage tank. |
| UX12 | Model UX12 is a Model UL LongLife™ reference electrode with an electrolyte contact plug fitted to one end. It is designed to be installed in a below grade sump and can be easily withdrawn for replacement or calibration. |
