Custom Through-Wall Products
Electrochemical Devices, Inc. works with design and corrosion engineers to produce reference electrodes for those applications where our standard models may require modification. Customization can be as simple as a minor change in dimensions, or it may be more complex such as a complete re-design of the housing. If it is simple, it is only necessary to consult with us before ordering to ensure the change does not affect the functionality of the product. When the design requires major modifications, we will prepare a drawing of the proposed product for engineering approval. At that time the custom product is assigned a unique model number, FX, followed by a two digit sequence number to simplify re-ordering in the future. We do not charge design fees for this service, and in most cases the custom product is priced comparably to a similar standard product. For all custom designed products we use the same full featured electrodes used in our standard products. Listed below are some of the custom through-wall products we have designed. | FX01 | Model FX01 is a Model FS standard reference with varying extensions. These are used where a shallow protruding reference is required such as measuring the potential inside a pipe with the reference located in a tee fitting. |
| FX02 | Model FX02 is a through-wall reference with a fully threaded body (1 inch-8 NC thread). It is designed for installation on a cast iron waterbox that cannot have threaded adapters welded to it. |
| FX03 | Model FX03 is designed to be flush mounted on the wall of a large diameter water tunnel. Dimensions are sized to suit the box recess. |
| FX04 | Model FX04 is a variant of Model FX01A. The flat membrane has been replaced with a hemispherical one so it can be used with potential wheels. |
| FX05 | Model FX05 is a variant of Model FX01A. The flat membrane has been replaced with a ¼ inch (6 mm) dia luggin capillary for measuring potentials behind steel sheet piling. |
| FX06 | Model FX06 styles are now Model FH7 or FH5. The 1 inch NPT 316L stainless steel nipple on FH1 has been replaced with a swaged nipple having a ¾ inch NPT or ½ inch NPT on the vessel end and 1 inch NPT on the termination end. |
| FX07 | Model FX07 is a variant of Model FE-BDG. It is designed to mate with a Cosasco RBS Retriever so that potential measurements may be made inside a high pressure chamber with a reference located outside the chamber. |
| FX08 | Model FX08 is a variant of Model FA in which the bushing at the wire end has been removed. It is used with Conax type through-wall glands. |
| FX09 | Model FX09 bridge styles are now Model FE7 or FE5. The 1 inch NPT 316L stainless steel nipple on FE1has been replaced with a swaged nipple having a ¾ inch NPT or ½ inch NPT on the vessel end and 1 inch NPT on the termination end. |
| FX10 | Model FX10 is a low pressure insertion reference electrode assembly consisting of a reference electrode and gland nut designed to mate with a full-opening 1 inch NPT gate valve. |
| FX11 | Model FX11 is a zinc probe with an exposed zinc rod. |
| FX12 | Model FX12 is a Model FH Heavy Duty Through-Wall reference electrode with an 8 inch (20 cm) nipple. |
