Custom Anodes
Electrochemical Devices, Inc. works with design and corrosion engineers to produce anodes for those applications where our standard models may require modification. Customization can be as simple as a minor change in dimensions, or it may be more complex such as a complete re-design of the housing. If it is simple, it is only necessary to consult with us before ordering to ensure the change does not affect the functionality of the product. When the design requires major modifications, we will prepare a drawing of the proposed product for engineering approval. At that time the custom product is assigned a unique model number, AX, followed by a two digit sequence number to simplify re-ordering in the future. We do not charge design fees for this service, and in most cases the custom product is priced comparably to a similar standard product. For all custom designed products we use the same proven techniques used on our standard products. Listed below are some of the custom anodes we have designed. To see drawings of these products, download the Custom Anodes datasheet or contact the Sales Office.
| AX01 |
Model AX01 is a bell-end tubular anode designed to be suspended from an overhead structure. It is used to protect the interior of large tanks. |
| AX02 | Model AX02 is flush mounted on the wall of a large diameter water tunnel. It is designed to be installed and replaced by divers. |
| AX03 | Model AX03 is a variant of the Model AL low profile anode. The mounting system has been modified. |
| AX04 | Model AX04 is a variant of the Model AR probe anode. It has a short protrusion with a hemispherical active surface; it is used on large diameter pumps and piping. |
| AX05 | Model AX05 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. It has multiple probes emanating from a single mounting point. |
| AX06 | Model AX06 is a 2 inch (5 cm) pipe anode designed to span a condenser waterbox. |
| AX07 | Model AX07 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. The round stainless steel fitting has been replaced with a hexagonal fitting. |
| AX08 | Model AX08 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. The ½ inch (1.3 cm) dia anode rod has been replaced with a 1 ¼ inch (3 cm) dia. rod. |
| AX09 | Model AX09 is is a variant of Model AR probe anode. The ½ inch (1.3 cm) dia anode rod has been replaced with a 3/4 inch (2 cm) dia. rod. |
| AX10 | Model AX10 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. It has an integral constant current rectifier (120 or 240 mA) and is used for protecting heat exchanger heads. |
| AX11 | Model AX11 is a variant of the Model AL low profile anode. The wire terminates in a waterproof connector allowing the anode to be installed on waterfront structures by a diver. |
| AX12 | Model AX12 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. The ½ inch (1.3 cm) dia anode rod has been replaced with a 2.5 cm dia. rod. |
| AX13 | Model AX13 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. The length of the ½ inch (1.3 cm) dia anode rod has been increased and a portion of it is uncoated. It will provide a more uniform current coverage in areas where the electrolyte flow rate is less than 1 ft/sec (0.3 m/sec). |
| AX14 | Model AX14 is a rod anode mounted in a PVC U-channel. It is used where the entire anode is immersed such as on waterfront structures. The U-channel serves as a dielectric shield and mounting frame. It can be diver installed. |
| AX15 | Model AX15 is a cantilevered rod anode mounted on a 3 in IPS flange. It is used to protect waterfront structures and can be diver installed. |
| AX16 | Model AX16 is a hot tap insertion tool for anodes or reference electrodes. |
| AX17 | Model AX17 is a rod anode which is suspended from an overhead structure. |
| AX18 | Model AX18 is a low profile strip anode designed for protecting waterfront structures. |
| AX19 | Model AX19 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. The wire end has been modified so it can be installed fully immersed. |
| AX20 | Model AX20 is a variant of Model AR probe anode. The GRE probe extension has been encased in stainless steel for protection. |
| AX21 | Model AX21 is a sub-sized probe anode. The anode rod is 1/8 in (3.2 mm) dia and the mounting system is 3/8 inch IPS. |
